I am a preterist. (not full preterism--Christ hasn't returned yet). The distinction between the rapture and the second coming, and the distinction between Israel and the Church, so important to DF thought, cannot be held up in my mind.

I have tried.... but you preterists and a certain one's extremely loooong posts*cough**wink* make my head spin!!!!LOL (it doesn't take much for me, efta.... I'm a blonde). Perhaps you all should start a thread called "Intro to preterism for blondes".

Start a thread and ask me questions about it and I'll try to make sure that I make it as simple and shortwinded as possible. And maybe that un-named preterist can jump in too if s/he promises to take it easy on the size of his/her posts. :)

Hey now... what is this?? Pick on DDW post length day?? Boom already nipped that one in the bud.. this site only allows 12k post lengths.. my average eschatology post is 18K.... you can believe that I fought tooth and nail on that one but after many "sighs" and "Egad woman!" comments Boom won the day. La Rubia it is so good to see you so much in this area. We shall convert you.
And welcome Joe!!!

I am caught between Post and Amillenial. Does anyone want to convince me of either?

First I want to say that I agree with Dee Dee. It is great to see you so much in this area.
You asked what is amillenial. The answer (of course) depends on who you ask. But basically it is the beliefe that the millenial kingdom described in Revelation is figurative and will not be manifested on earth. If any amils. would like to elaborate on this please feel free to do so. Some also think that the second coming is figurative as well.
I myself lean toward postmillenialism, but I have not thoroughly explored the amillenial position within the preterist framework.

Amillennialism (I believe) teaches that the millennial reign is the reign of Christ in heaven with those believers that are already in heaven. Amils believe that good and evil will grow side by side until Christ's Second Coming.
I am postmillennial, and believe that Christ is currently reigning over heaven and earth, and that His kingdom will continue to expand on the earth till it overcomes evil completely at His Second Coming. So one major difference between a and post is that postmils believe that good will grow more than evil toward the end, while amils believe that they will grow side by side.

If that is a right definition of a- and post-millenialism, I guess I'm an a-millenialist who believes in the post-tribulation rapture. Except, I think I believe in the millenium of Christ. Hmmm. It's all so confusing...
Is it possible/common to believe in the post-trib rapture, where both the Church and the sons of darkness will come to full harvest before Jesus returns, who will then bodily reign for a thousand years? If not, it probably convinces me more that I'm right!!! ;)
God bless

Yeah, I think that's a fairly typical post-trib rapture view
