Journeying through the Loss of a Loved One
By, Gary Piper
The Journey through the loss of a Loved One does not begin the instant they passed into the next life. It really began the instant your lives touched each other. It began when your love for each other became a common bond you. It began when your weaknesses and strengths became their strengths and weaknesses. Your loved one became a loved one because their life has been painted so preciously and intricately onto the canvas of yours.
In the days, weeks and months ahead you will journey through life with a portion of ripped you, with a piece of your past gone forever. “Don’t worry,” some say, “time will heal all wounds.” And time does heal but time does not fill the emptiness.
As soon as the shadows of time begin to darken your memory suddenly you will hear a voice calling, “I am here. So long as your heart is beating I will always be with you and in me time will cease to exist.”
“Is that you Loved One,” you hear yourself saying?
And again you hear words, “I am here. So long as your heart is beating I will always be with you and in me time will cease to exist.” Suddenly you see someone reaching for you and instantly the shadows of time and your darkening memory are gone and you see a hand delicately and painstakingly bring to life scenes from the past and your Loved One lives once again.
Closing your eyes you silently await the next stroke of the artist’s brush and as it does you gently feel it’s soft bristles touch your spirit and suddenly across the portrait of your life appear the words, “I am here. So long as your heart is beating I will always be with you and in me time will cease to exist.” And you watch in awe as the artist autographs the picture and the letters J E S U S appear.
So when loneliness darkens your memory for someone who now lives in the Mansion Jesus made for them close your eyes and let the Master Artist carry you on a journey beyond time, beyond life, and believe that reunion in your memory is nothing compared to one that awaits you in eternity.
