Yes I got this tape. I just learned that Chloe is kinda wierd looking now that she got pummelled by a roof in the earthquake. Ray is still surly. Everyone is still pulling back bangs to show off their holograms.

I am not understanding the whole Hattie/Amanda thing...

Oh and here is something that was funny in the audio...

Ray is being introduced to Doc Floyd.

Doc Floyd says, "Call me anything other than Floyd."

Ray says, "How's Hattie?"

I really wanted Nicolae to get an apple thrown at him at the meeting where Tsion was ignoring him.

Bored, confused and uninterested here but you are posting. I spologize for insisting that you weren't. Aparently my new posts page refuses to refresh. That along with the shout box mirror image tells me something is wrong but I don't care enough to take action.

I have started Assasins, and I don't think I will bother starting a new thread, we can just talk here about it. It is AWFUL!

But back to this one, I thought Buck was a bit of a punk with Tsion and the locusts (which was pathetic to begin with - but the horsemen are even WORSE)

Well Rayford seems to have straightened up a bit, and am I a bad person if I really dislike Hattie?

I actually am done all the way through Assasins and mercifully the library doesn't have the rest in audio tapes.

Wow. Divine providence?

Maybe they were raptured up to heaven so you wouldn't have to subject yourself to them... :teeth:

I stopped reading them at The Mark, because the series got so convoluted I couldn't keep track of everyone. When you have more characters in a book series than Hinduism has deities, I begin to wonder about the authors.

Okay, I know I'm probably bringing up a dead thread, but I'm halfway through Desecration and I've gotta say...

The character that has me confused most in the series is Tsion Ben Judah. Think about it. He's a normal guy, pretty nice, but the book seems to turn him into a form of idol worship. They're living in end times, and when a passage in Revelations mentions the Mark of the Beast, no one cares, but everyone including the Tribulation Force are shocked and moved when Ben Judah tells them. Billions and Billions of viewers "hang on his every word", he gets to go on these awesome trips with Michael and Gabriel up to heaven, needs the Bible on his laptop in every language with multiple commentaries, and what does he come up with? A 3-5 page blurb saying "Brothers, I hate to shock you, but there will be locusts with human faces and armor. We missed the rapture, repent. Peace."

I mean, I'm not trying to completely bash on the series, but it's suprising that with all the geniuses in the world, the world's most righteous, adored, important man writes a couple paragraphs and brings everyone to be moved to tears. When they meet a new convert, he says something like "what really brought me to faith was Dr. Ben Judah. I love how he says Christianity's not just a religion, it's a relationship." Their lack of development of the character is really making the book harder and harder to empathise with.

But I'll keep pushing on in hope that one day, just like Rayford and Buck, I'll reach The Glorious Appearing alive and kicking.:teeth:

Hi!
I actually liked the series (it ain't great lit - but can be a fun read). Starting in the middle makes it really confusing though.
Hattie/Amanda: Not clear what you meant - Irene and Amanda were both married to Ray (Irene before and Amanda after the Rapture). Hattie was a stewardess with Ray's airline - and on a lot of his flights. If that whole Rapture thing hadn't gotten in the way, they'd have had an affair. Girlfriend wannabe + wife = meow! (No one likes Hattie - talk about stubborn! But hey, God loves her, so....)
Ben Judah: He's the Obi-wan or Gandalf of the series. Provides the occasional insight, gets in the way a lot, everybody loves him. Hey, they had to have one they didn't kill!
Chloe: Wasn't Buck the beat up one? I don't remember Chloe being scarred that badly....
The Witnesses: How would you expect Moses and Elijah to talk? "Hey dudes, get a spiritual life!" And after three days laying dead in the street, you'd smell pretty ripe too....
