I want to try the low-carb thing. For the last five years (since I got my computer, basically) I have gotten next to no exercise, and have also taken up the practice of eating junk food on an almost daily basis.

So my body is basically a derelict :teeth:

I want to try cutting carbs out of my diet. But I need suggestions for this Atkins stuff.. where can I get them?

A few questions for those of you who are Atkins veterans.

1. What is a good low carb breakfast?

2. Low Carb Lunch?

3. Low Carb Dinner?

4. Low Carb Snack?

Please list as much things as you can, 'cause I'm not exactly a culinary expert. I could live on a hamburger or pizza for every meal, if given the chance, and be perfectly satisfied!

Breakfast: Eggs, sausage, ham...

Lunch: I used to shred cheddar cheese, put it on roast beef, and roll it up, then put it in the microwave to melt the cheese... Yummy! Don't forget your low-carb veggies, tho! That FIBER is REALLY important.

Dinner: Hamburgs without buns. Seasoned chicken (watch which ones you use). Steak (yum!)

I always stuck with veggies for snacks.

Hope that helps!

How about low carb sandwiches? Heard of the sandwich tortilla wrap things, definitely gonna try those. I also have some low carb bread.

How many carbs a day are you supposed to limit yourself to?

mm,

I agree with you on your choices.

Hamster, getting used to the low or no carb diet is hard when your body is used to bread, cereal and snacks like potato chips.

but you can do it!

Those are all so salty ('cept the soda). How about some plain shredded lettuce, cucumber, carrot sticks, to go with those.

Is salt a no-no?

As far as I know, as long as you don't go overboard, salt is ok.

FYI, you cound carbs, not calories, and fiber carbs don't count. So, check those labels!

with regards to Atkins...I have no idea.

I just looked at your list and thought if I had to eat that I would be need something non-salty to go with it. Sorry if I confused you :ahem:
