I was reading some of the journals and came upon Pilgrim's interesting journal.
He said: I went to a meeting of our local clergy yesterday where we discussed plans for a prayer service immediately following any declaration of war.
There was some talk about inviting a Muslim to read from the Q'ran as a show of solidarity and peaceful intention. I piped up and said that I would be very uncomfrtable with that since we were an ecumincal group not an interfaith one. I stressed the importance of distinctively Christian worship at such a time. I suggested a separate service or gathering some time later where we could have an inter faith sort of thing but stressed that what we were planning should be distinctively Christian.
I do appreciate Pilgrim's outspoken stance that any service should be distinctly Christian but I'm concerned about some other comments he made.
He made mention of possibly of holding a seperate service for the Muslims. As a Christian is it redemptive to allow Muslims, who view Jesus as a mere prophet and not as God, a platform?
Perhaps you can give us some more insight into what you believe Pilgrim about this. I do not want to misunderstand your position
