Somewhere in the NT, Paul gives the way to approach another believer who has wronged you. Something like this:
In Private
In Front of Another
In a Group
In Front of the Church
I can't find it!!! It's driving me nuts. Does anyone have that handy?

1 Timothy 5:18-20 For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox treading out grain," and, "The laborer is worthy of his reward." (19) Do not receive an accusation against an elder except before two or three witnesses. (20) Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear.Perhaps...........
:hrm: Jesus gave more explicit details on rebuking a brother.

Ohhh, maybe it was Jesus. :smile: That guy said so many good things.
Does the verse you're thinking of have that progression I described?

Matthew 18:15-17 15 "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Ahhh, perfect! Made it a lot easier once I figured I was looking in the gospels and not the Pauline letters!
