I know it is a lame argument, but from what I have seen from atheists it is the only one that even begins to be worth thinking about.

Even if it turns out to be a toothless dog.

Best argument for Christianity and not just for God?

Hmmm.....I suppose the *best* one that I can think of right now would be some sort of "argument from the New Testament". Assuming some level of historicity leads to a certain degree of plausibility, if nothing else...
