MY wife has discovered the patchwork/quilting scene, and has been quickly infected with the virus. *sigh* She has UK outlets for US 100% cotton quilting material, but has not found the Houston Stars pattern. Can anyone help please.

Please!

PLEASE!!; I want to be left in peace. she has more evangelistic fervour than I do now!!

Wait, here she comes with her new samples that arrived to day, gotta run, say you didn't see me, OK?

She gets to get fabric samples in the mail? Waaahhhhh!!!! I only dream of that!!!!!

Solly, I had trouble finding "Houston Star". Is it perhaps under another name, like "LeMoyne Star" or something else?

Here is a link to a site that has a lot of stars. Even if the pattern she wants is under a different name, this is as comprehensive a site as any I have seen. And there are a lot of other sites out there as well that might help.

Wow, thanks for that Moss.

Yes, she gets wads of samples, of every fabric the particular shop stocks, and now we are up to our ears in "fat quarters"!! See how easily I pick up the lingo?

It's possible that the pattern was created especially for the magazine; they ran it each month, adding a new part of the pattern, so that the name denotes the complete object rather than just the individual pattern block. I'll check with the missus. Thanks again.

Wow, "fat quarters"!! You ARE up on the lingo, all right!

I would like to have fat quarters of Bali fabric come to my house every month. That Bali is the best stuff for the stained glass quilts I like to do.....:sigh:

What magazine are you referring to, Solly? I would like to know so I can look for it too!

Two magazines over here, but I don't know the names off hand; will get them for you, as I assume you can probably get them, even through Amazon maybe. I get the shop names too.

Bali fabric??? Oh my, I sense another can of worms being opened...

That aside, Bali is a fabric design, I guess, that has colours flowing into other colours, blending and melding and sort of making me think of watercolours. I don't know how else to describe Bali.

Here is a pic of my most recent stained glass quilt......I hope you can see the fabrics in it.....most of them are Bali fabrics......

You can probably see the effect best in the red fabric and the brownish fabric in the border.

Try this place, Sharon got a catalogue, and they have Bali and Tonga fabrics, and deliver overseas. They also do sample and charm packs.
