Perhaps we should kick Jude off and allow some other Prot to take his place?

I say, let's give him a few more days. It may very well be that thinking takes longer for Protestants.

In case you guys are not aware of it, I am not a protestant. Jude 3b

Don't play silly post-modern games. By all the normal definitions, you are a Protestant.

I Read Roman Catholicism two months before I converted. (A friend insisted that it would save me). I almost threw up at the disgusting levels of inaccuracy, and flat out fraudulence. Almost made me want to convert faster to help people who believed that rather ignorant stuff.

I hear this quite a bit re: Boettner's book, and aside from a penchant for going all Hislop on us, I never really saw the "disgusting levels of inaccuracy, and flat out fraudulence" Roman Catholics continually seethe about...

Perhaps you could tell us what you read that you consider to be such?

But then, given your performance, or lack of performance on the "Fall of Christendom" thread, let it suffice to say that I am not expecting much.

I do recall though that Fr. O'Hare reported as true the story that Luther died in a brothel screaming for a priest...

And then you're the one posting threads under the title of one of the most ridiculously biased works of history written in the last century.

The infamous list would be a good start. Some things are simply idiotic ("Protestant nations are richer, therefore Protestantism is right and Catholicism isn't").

Here's an article on it:

The link to CA raises a lot of questions. I read Boettner years ago, maybe I need to revisit it, I don't remember any of that stuff. The reference to an address by Strossmeyer certainly is embarrassing, but as I recall, Boettner's criticism of Tobit was over the magical fish episode more than anything else.

I have read the book, and I will revisit it, have you? Either of you? Or are you content merely to regurgitate the criticisms of other men?

Sorry it has been a while, been busy. As for the response, it would be easier just to give you a link that pretty much so sums up what I think about the book. I don’t usually like to do this, but it seems a waste of time to simply write everything I want to say anyways when I can just let you do the work of reading :-)

So go here http://www.catholic.com/library/The_Anti_Catholic_Bible.asp

Back in the 1980's, when I was still Roman Catholic, The Bible Answer Man mailed me excerpts from Boettner to deconvert me. I wrote back about its inaccuracies. They agreed I had found a serious error. I wrote again and told them that this must mean they would never send out Boettner extracts again. They admitted that they would not stop sending out false information.

I don't think this is correct. If you have some authoritative coroboration on this, I'd like to see it.
He may not be a protestant but he is a very big bigot, he is non-denpminational disguised as a Baptist
