Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    Glory Seed Devotional 06/04/2014
A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD

“I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27, NCV)

This morning as I sit on the porch of our log cabin nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Townsend, Tennessee I am experiencing Jesus’ Peace in a new and deeper way. In the distance I can hear a dog barking, moments ago the sound of a crow add to the morning’s tranquility as does the singing of a bird, “tweet, tweet, tweet.” Suddenly from below the sound of a Woodpecker hammering on a tree trunk completes the Morning Symphony of Jesus’ Peace.

As I look out through the trees I can see the morning mist hanging in the air. I suspect if I were down below in Townsend it would look like we were in a low level cloud. I know that because normally we can see the outline of a higher mountain from our front porch. The morning mist adds a sense of mystery to the Peace of Jesus. Yet with the shroud of mystery comes the reality that peace cannot exist without the presence of the Holy Spirit.

For many peace is nothing more than the absence of conflict yet the reality of Peace is that it doesn’t take anything from what we experience instead it adds to our experiences the presence of the Divine. Peace does not remove conflict it simply renders it powerless and through the presence of the Holy Spirit transforms it into a relationship building experience.

This morning I am reminded of the times I’ve prayed, “Jesus, take me away from this conflict.” And in response Jesus has answered, “Gary, instead of taking it away let’s use it to deepen our relationship you’ll like that better.”

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary
