Deliver us from Evil - Sean Hannity

I just started reading Sean Hannity's book Deliver us from Evil.

He starts by describing how evil manifests itself and includes some chilling details about the Holocaust. Evil has no conscience. When the Nazis were herding people into the gas chambers, they told them the most horrorible lies to achieve compliance and avoid a riot. As Hannity moves on from there, he uses examples about how appeasers merely serve to further the advance of evil.

The first examples of evil he uses are Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union. Neville Chamberlain attempted to avoid war with Germany and in the meantime Hitler was advancing his evil through Europe. Chamberlian met with Hitler to ask him to stop what he was doing. He appeased Hitler and avoided war, but that didn't stop Hitler. He kept going. Becasue appeasing evil never works. It wasn't until Winston Churchill came on the scene that Hitler and his evil were confronted and stopped. He goes on to talk about the Soviet Union and that's where I'm at right now.

He's already talked a little about the war on terror and I look forward to what else he has to say about it. He does make the case that the modern day appeasers are the liberals. He offers that while they would like evil to end, they are unwilling to make the tough choices that are necesary to stop it. Just like the war protesters, the liberals in leadership positions don't want to do what it takes to fight against evil. I commend our current leadership in the White House for having the courage to make the tough choices.

I will post more as I get further along in the book. I also look forward to the remarks of others. (Hannity has written a great book!)

Hey One,

I too have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with the way George Bush has governed during his time in office. I didn't vote for him because I wasn't entirely sure that his profession of faith was real. I came close only because I thought if something happened to him then Dick Cheney would become president (I used to really like Cheney - prob. because I'm a big Reagan fan). Sadly Cheney's (and Rumsfield's) views on Israel made me glad that he's not calling the shots.

God rules the affairs of men and directs the heart of the king/president whithersoever He Wills which is why, unlike other Christians, I'm not at all concerned over whether going into Iraq was righteous or prudent. Ultimately it was God's Will.

Which brings me to Sean Hannity. He's a good guy, I know, but I really can't stand to listen to him. It seems salvation to him is all wrapped up in social policies and adherance to "natural law" (such as Hank Hannagraaf's show tonight) and being "moral" never saved anyone! Even IF everyone in America believed as he did - ethically - that still wouldn't save us, it would only condemn us more... Much like the hypocrisy in O.T. Israel where they said and did one thing (legalistically) yet with uncircumcised hearts.

Let me pass on some advice from the Lord regarding Sean Hannity, me or anyone else you should read:

"Take heed therefore HOW ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have."

"And he said unto them, Take heed WHAT ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given."

Happy Reading! :teeth:

Hi Cherith:

Thanks for the reply. You're not the first person who I've heard complain about listening to Hannity. I tend to agree. I do think he is on the mark regarding liberalism.

With regards to what is currently happening with the Bush administration and what he did or did not know before 9/11, he definitely would have been criticized by the very same liberals if had acted before 9/11 as he is now for acting in Iraq as a result of 9/11. He would have been called a war monger if he had acted before 9/11. The libs certainly wouldn't have supported him taking any agressive action prior to 9/11. They expect our intelligence to be able to stop any act from being carried out by walking up to them and announcing that they are under arrest. End of story. No bombs, nobody dies. No muss, no fuss. Everybody's happy and we caught the bad guys the right way. Yipeeeeee!
