Ok folks, a few people have complained(including me... I had loads of problems yesterday) about speed issues the last couple weeks and for the most, unfortuneatly, these problems are completely outside our control, and therefore neither us nor our provider can fix them.
BUT, we can always try. :smile: If you're having speed issues, or even if you're not, I can use a little bit of information from you.
If you're on Windows 98/95, goto Start->Run->(type in the text box) command->Ok. A black box will pop up, and from there type "tracert theologyweb.com"(without the quotes) in and press enter. Give it a little while to complete, and when it says "Trace Complete" copy the output and send it to me. Relying completely on memory at this point... you can click in the black box and drag the white background over the output. From there you can copy the text by right clicking, or by pressing the copy button.
In Windows 2000/XP the method is much the same.
Start->Run
[attachment=1]
->(type) cmd->Ok
[attachment=2]
In the black box that appears type "tracert theologyweb.com" and give it a little while to complete.
[attachment=3]
When it says "Trace complete" drag click and drag the white background across the output and right click.

Now that you have done this, email or PM Dee Dee Warren or I with the results. Dee Dee's email is ddw@theologyweb.com and my email is cirisme@theologyweb.com.(you only need to email one of us)
Many thanks! This information will be used so our provider can help us find any networking bugs that may still be out there. :smile:

I'm running Win 98, but I can't seem to highlight the results. I couldn't figure out any way to copy it, since neither the right or the left mouse buttons would work in the prompt, and the copy button wouldn't come up either. :doh:

Right Click and Select Mark then drag as normal... :smile:
(Should work for Win98)

It won't let me right or left-click in the box. No menus, nothing. Arg.

Try this.
Get the command window as indicated. Then give the command
"tracert theologyweb.com > tracert.txt"
This should create a small file called tracert.txt, which you can then send to cirisme.

I'm going to have to disagree here... I find Win98 MUCH more stable than ME.
However, when compared to modern operating systems, I would agree with Cir.

Hey if anyone sent us hte results, we also need the city/state where you are at. The problems appear to be geographical.

I agree. In fact, ME was supposed to be an update to 98 but most of it got out the door with next to NO testing.
I was referring to the command prompt being much the same.

Yeah, DDW failed to mention that I should ask for location in her email to me. :poke:
NSM, when you get home could you give me another Tracert? I'm very interested in your results. Thanks!
