View Full Version : Rapture is not for the Christians

First of all, the term Rapture is not a Biblical term, but only itdentifies an event that may occur. I'd like to propose the thought that a rapture will take place only at the end. But this rapture will be when the "weeds" or "sinners" will be pulled out and then after that, the "harvest" of the Christians will take place.

Welcome to TWeb #1rugbyfan. I would guess that means you live or have spent some time in Austriala or New Zealand. I've played a little rugby, and that's a tough sport.
As to the question of the rapture, you can get a wide variety of opinions about it here a TWeb. From it already happened, to it could happen any day, pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, post-mil, etc..
Personally, I think there are two events which the scriptures refer to, which often times get mixed and matched wrongly. The first and second resurrection referred to in Revelations chapter 20.
My present view is that the first resurrection comes at the end of the tribulation, those who were martyred for Jesus during the trib. period, and those who survive the trib. confessing Jesus without taking the mark, will meet Jesus in the air as He returns. This Elect group will rule with Him during the millenium. This is described in Rev. 20:4-6 and Mat. 24:29-31
The second resurrection happens for everyone after the millenium, just before judgement day.

As a Partial Preterist, I think you're close in your interpretation but not quite there yet. "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[6] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Matthew 24:36-41. Noah's day did not have a rapture of the wicked but they did die. Likewise in the day of the son of man wicked men died, though not raptured in a Dispensational Futurist sense.

Welcome to TWeb rugby fan.
As an orthodox preterist (aka partial preterist) I agree that the "rapture" is not biblical, but the final resurrection is.
However, it is my understanding that the final resurrection is for all (the lost and the saved), and that is where the “sheep and the goats” will be separated.
I would love for you to expound on what you meant by the rapture not being for Christians.
Look forward to hearing more from you.

I LIKE WHAT YOU SAID!
" This Elect group will rule with Him during the millenium. This is described in Rev. 20:4-6 "
Rev. 20:4 And I saw thrones of Christian authoty set up during the reign of Gregory I, (590-604AD), and judgment was given unto Universal Catholicism: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded at the instigated of Emperor Diocletian (303- 13 AD), for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God which they read from a New Testament, and all martyrs who lived prior to the Renaissance, who therefore had not worshipped the beast of a re-established misdirected paganized, industrial-economic system, neither his image, the Fatherland, neither had received his mark, the swastika, upon their foreheads, or in their hands, seig heil; and they lived and reigned with Christ during a thousand years of Dark Ages.
Rev. 20:5 But the rest of the dead, the revived Cohanim priesthood of the First Century, lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This revival of the Aaronic priesthood, this is the first resurrection.
Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he, who hath part in that first resurrection of the apostles and those taught to lay the scriptures, as if a fan, upon the bones of their hands: on such the second death of this priestly hidden manna hath no power, but they shall be priests of God, the Word itself, and of Christ, their teacher and director, and shall reign with him a thousand years during Universal Catholicism.
THE SECOND RESURRECTION:
As you say:
"The second resurrection happens for everyone after the millenium, just before judgement"
Rev. 7:2 And I saw, in my mind, as if another angelic-like psychic apparatus ascending from the east, having the seal of God, Conscience: and he cried with a loud voice to future generations by mens of the four winds of their Functional human thinking, to whom it was given to hurt by s sudden conscious awareness in the earthly Consciousness and the sea of Unconsciousness in the minds of men.
Rev. 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earthly social order, neither the sea of their unconsciousness minds, nor the trees of the social institutions, till we have sealed the enligthenment in the servants of our God, the Word, in the frontal lobes of their foreheads.
Rev. 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed with the enlightenment: and there were seal and authorized an hundred and forty and four thousand, priests and kings awakened, of all the twelve tribes of the Major Christian Denomination of the children of Israel who have been so circumcised in their heart.
Rev. 7:5 Of the tribe of Judah, CHURCH OF CHRIST'S DISCIPLES, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben, LUTHERANS, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad, PENTECOSTALS, were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev. 7:6 Of the tribe of Aser , UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim, LATTER-DAY-SAINTS AND MORMONS, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses, EPISCOPALIANS, were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev. 7:7 Of the tribe of Simeon, THE BAPTISTS, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi, ORTHODOX EASTERN CATHOLIC CHURCH, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar, METHODISTS, were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev. 7:8 Of the tribe of Zabulon, PRESBYTERIANS, were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph, THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin, JEHOVAH WITNESSES, were sealed twelve thousand.

Agree (kinda) I'd only change 'may occur' to will occur

And this is based on?

He probably bases it on the same sort of interpretation (with the exception of what it means to be taken) of that part of the Olivet Discourse as I do. Wherin the wicked are "taken" rather than the good. And I don't think there will be a rapture but there will be a Ressurection on the Last Day with those living at the same time being plucked off the earth not preventing the Rez.

Please refrain from incorrectly quoting scripture.
