Greetings,
I have been working through Ruth and I am curious what some of the members of this forum's thoughts are on the curious construction found at the end of Ruth 2:7 (from BHS):
ZH $BTH HBYT M(+
Specifically, I am curious about your thoughts on the following points:
1) what do you believe the antecedent of the demonstrative pronoun ZH is,
2) Do you believe that the pronominal suffix attached to the infinitive construct $BTH is functioning as a subject or object,
3) Do you believe that the root of the infinitive construct $BTH is $BT or Y$B
4) What do you believe M(+ is modifying, and in light of all of the preceding:
5) how would you translate this verse?
And if you have opinions with regard to these questions - justification for them would be nice. :ahem:
Regards,
Cromwell
