Contrary to popular belief, I have not been abducted by aliens who went on to probe various and sundry orifices of my body with uncomfortable instruments before forcing themselves sexually upon me in order to create an alien-human hybrid master race.
No, it's much worse than that, I'm afraid.
I have a failing root canal. The pain from this has been exquisite, as you might imagine. Complicating this, the bacterial infection from the tooth seems to have spread to my sinuses.
On the plus side, my dentist has prescribed for me some wonderful pain medicine. This medicine makes me sleepy, however, and so I'm not here nearly as often as I'd like.
Thanks to everyone who's kept the Planetarium a hoppin' and happenin' place during my hiatus. I hope to be back in full capacity soon!
Yours,
Brother Vinny

Thank you all.
HerodionRomulus, during this down-time I was able to view the entire first season of Babylon 5. I'll be going over them again episode-by-episode, shortly. Let me just say that it took some time for Sinclair to grow on me, and now that he has, I'm upset that he's going to have been replaced by "Tron" in the second season. :bawl:
(And was that the sound of wings unfurling when Kosh revealed himself [off-screen] to Delenn? You know, I think it was.)

Yes, Sinclair grows on you. Most fans felt that Sinclair would've been better but the Suits won the day. However, Boxleitner did a superb job too.
Wings? Angel wings? Hmmmmmmm Hold on till the last ep of S2, when we will get to actually(sorta) "see" a Vorlon.
Did you notice the shadowy aliens with Mr Morden in the last episode?
And speaking of last episode, You may be too young to remember Kennedy's assasination, but the shot of Pres. Clark being sworn in was deliberately patterned after the pic of LBJ being sworn in.
When you re-watch S1, pay very close attention to Parliament of Dreams. It has THE most storyline information of any episode.
Also please note what G'kar does with his piece of red fruit.
Also, if you ever watched STNG, Andreas Katsulas (G'kar) had a recurring role as a Romulan captain.

Katsulas was also the "one-armed man" in the movie remake of "The Fugitive."
Other familiar faces from season one:
Catherine Satai was played by Julia Nickson (formerly Julia Nickson-Soul, because she was married to Starsky & Hutch's David Soul, who was in the classic Star Trek episode, "The Apple."). Nickson herself earned her own Trek chops by playing Ensign Lian T'Su in the TNG episode "The Arsenal of Freedom," and again in the DS9 episode "Paradise," as Cassandra. You may also remember her from Rambo: First Blood Part II, in which she played Vietnamese operative Co Bao (the same movie featured another Trek guest: Charles Napier, who played the corrupt Murdock, was in classic Trek's "The Way to Eden").
Judson Scott, who played "Knight One" in "And the Sky Full of Stars," was in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan as Khan's right-hand man, Joachim. He also went on to do TNG and Voyager guest appearances.
Then of course, there's Bester. This had to be the most inspired casting choice of the whole first season. Walter Koenig masterfully sheds his Chekov persona (from classic Trek) to portray the sinister PsiCop, Alfred Bester. In one deft move, J. Michael Straczynski simultaneously pays homage to classic Trek and allows one of its actors to utterly shatter his typecast. Not only that, but Bester gets to say one of my favorite lines from the first season:
"Anatomically impossible, Mr. Garibaldi. But you're welcome to try. Anytime. Anywhere."

Indeed, of the whole series.
Bester was intended as a one-time character, but was so wildly popular that he became a recurring role and everybodys favorite villain. I think he was in over a dozen episodes.
In S5 there is a whole episode of Bester and his PsiCops.
He once was asked which role was most fulfilling: Chekov or Bester. He said that one was financially fulfilling and one was artistically satisfying.
He diplomatically declined to say which was which. As if we didn't know!
:yipee:
Majel Roddenberry has a guest spot in S3. She once said B5 was what her husband always wanted to do but couldn't because of the way Hollywood worked.
