I bought a set of books for $3 at the local vintage bookstore. The books go in order like this:
1.) What is Christian Doctrine?
2.) Who is Jesus Christ?
3.) Revelation, Inspiration, Scripture
4.) The Nature of God
5.) God and Creation
6.) Man as God's Creation
7.) Man as Sinner
8.) God's Work of Salvation
9.) The Christian Experience of Salvation
10.) The Holy Spirit
11.) Life in the Spirit
12.) The Nature of the Church
13.) The Life of the Church
14.) The Mission of the Church
15.) The Christian Hope
Pretty cool deal in my opinion. :thumb:

That sounds like a great deal! Who are the authors? What are the publication dates?

That's awesome! There's a used book store in my city that's run by Christians. It has a huge doctrine/theology section. I haven't touched it yet. But I will eventually. Yeah eventually....

Yes, who authored and published the set? That would be very important to know before considering the set of books as authoritative on theology. For example, if it were published by a Catholic organization, I'd probably throw them out without a thought. (If they were done by the Jesus Seminar, I'd probably save them for a good book burning. LOL)

C'mon RI. Even if you don't agree with the tehology, it is good to have the counterpoints.

Yeah, because that book doesn't raise any theological questions. :duh:

Copyright 1988 Broadman Press. Nashville, Tennessee. All 15 by different authors, but some are by Jesse C. Flecther and Morris Ashcraft. don't have time to list all 15 authors, but if you want, just ask and i'll do it later.

Boradman press. There you go RI, it is pretty much going to be mainline protestantism for you.

That is a great deal! I can't wait, I'm going to Grand Rapids May 10th to see the Dead Sea Scrolls and then to hit Baker Books and Eerdmans. They have wonderful seconds and used book deals!! But nothing like 15 books for $3! :thumb:

I have Garcia Martinez's The Dead Seas Scrolls Translated and Garcia Martinez and Tigchelaar The Dead Sea Scrolls: Study Edition 2 vols. (both have all teh non-Biblical material). But what I was referring to was that the Dead Sea Scrolls are currently on display at a Museum in Grand Rapids.
