I am not. The draw of the first movie was the combination of the special affects with the mysterious story line. That movie deserved the Oscar that it got. The mystery is all but gone now. And if the previews are any indication, the makers are just trying to bump the spectacle up a notch. I'll watch them, but I am not expecting anything great.

I'm excited because there is a couple burning questions that the 1st movie left out.

1). so they found "the one" so what? Do the people of the Matrix want to be saved?

2). How will the computer try and fight against the all seeing, all knowing power of the might that is Neo

3). If absolute power perverts absolutely, what will happen if Neo tries to make the Matrix his own little playland?

4). What happens if the people of the matrix simply want to keep on going inside the computer, they then join forces and through this destroy zion and we simply accept our fate, what was the point of the entire exercise.

or maybe i just think too much!:eww: :whip: :juggle: :teeth:

I hate to say it, but that's probably what I would do.

If they continue with the whole 'story of christ' thing...it should be interesting to see Neo Crucified by the 'jews of the matrix'

Since the computers are capable of adapting, do you think they will devise a way to thwart Neo?

I like the creator vs. created tension. Can anything ever surpass its creator?

I can tell you bits, if you really want to know. But I don't think you do...

Shalom Patroclus,

Did you know that the Matrix was written as a trilogy? It's not merely movie hype to make a second and a third because the first was so good.

But alas, I'd also be willing to bet that you are unfamiliar with the second and third movie's speicial effects as well...

The creators of the Matrix were upset that as soon as they made the film, every commercial, movie, etc started copying their FX.... so they have now hired an Australian company to invent a whole new genre of special effects for the next two films. Essentially, the took each actor, filmed them under extremely high megapixel cameras and then loaded their every detail into a computer. Then this computer simulated the actor in a virtual world, with details down to the pores and individual strands of hair of that actor. They then would take this simulation and add it into the movie, having the simulated actor do whatever they wanted him/her to do.

It gets much crazier than that....

A few well known critics have viewed a special 20 minute screening of the second movie and have posted some interesting comments online. You know how when a movie has a special effect, you have this gut feeling inside of you that says, "this is not real, it's just a movie"... even though your eyes see it happen? Essentially, these next two movies blend reality and effects so dramatically that the critics could not tell what was special effects and what was real. It's really that crazy.

I could go on for hours about the next two films, but I encourage anyone who wants to comment on the next two films to first be familiar with:
1) what they are about (plot wise)
2) the new technology being used
3) there is no #3, but 1 and 2 looked so lonely up there...

shalom,
Yafet.

The first time I saw the Final Fantasy movie. Crazy-weird story. MASTERFUL CGI.

I really liked the Computer work in Final Fantasy, but that storyline was just way to new-age/hippie for me.

I hat to say it, but in context, I thought the villain actually had stronger arguments at times.

James Woods is just that sort of Republican at times. He's one in real life, too, so I can see why he made the role sound convincing.

And after watching "Last Flight of the Osiris," yep, it WAS Square studios involved in the production.

My working motto is: Square has the best CGI artists in the world, Blizzard the best in the USA.

:yipee: I absolutely can't WAIT for Reloaded to come out... 'twould be nice if somewhere around here had a midnight showing... I know that Zion will be in the next movie, and I've heard something about the existance of ''viruses'' in the Matrix... possibly the two guys in the white coats? And what is Persephone going to be doing, anyway?

I wish they hadn't killed off Mouse in the first one... I would SOOOOOOO be the girl version of him...
You know what this tastes like?... Tasty Wheat. Have you ever tasted Tasty Wheat?
No, but technically neither have you.
But that's my point! How do the MACHINES know what Tasty Wheat tastes like? For all we know, it could have tasted like... oatmeal, or....... tuna fish!

Oh, and how are they going to explain Tank's dissapearance? He wasn't cast b/c the actor assaulted a producer or something after the first one, but as far as the movie is concerned, he should still be alive and well... with a substancially large scar...

Did you know that the first music track on the Reloaded trailer is by none other that Christian artist Andy Hunter? Cool eh?

Conerning Final Fantasy - I thought the CGI was very impressive ... but the story line was not very Final Fantasy. Judging by such excellent storylines as those found in FFVII and FFX, I think they could have done a bit better.

The twins? The theory my friends have come up with is that they're viruses in the Matrix... which would be extremely cool when you think about it.

Hey all, a friend of mine just told me something when I watched the matrix again last weekend with some friends!

Maybe I am stupid to come to know this but now, but there is something very important in the first movie that I had never realized! It envolves The Oracle (the old woman who makes cookies).

The oracle says to Morpheus: YOU WILL FIND THE ONE.

The oracle says to Trinity: YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH A MAN, AND THIS MAN SHALL BE THE ONE.

The oracle says to Neo: YOU ARE NOT THE ONE, SORRY KID. MAYBE IN YOUR NEXT LIFE, WHO KNOWS...

At the end of the movie, Agent Smith actually kills Neo. He dies, and after Trinity kisses him back in Morpheus´ ship, he raises back from the dead, and kicks the butt out of Smith and the other two agents run in fear.

Just now I understood the words of the oracle to Neo. Who else didn´t know that??

Who´s that? Andy Hunter?? Yeah, go see the Matrix and praise god when Andy Hunter starts singing or playing or whatever. What´s that has to do with anything being a christian? Does his droppings smell better because of that?

My favorite scene ijn the movie (and possibly my favorite scene in any movie) is the "no spoon" scene.

"Then it is not the spoon that bends, but you."

It seemed a bit more Secret of Mana-y(Seiken Desnsetssu-y) to me.

And if you haven't read it yet:

If you thought Edea and her habit of flinging Death spells about was annoying, wait until you go up against foes with whom the slightest physical contact equals instant Doom.

I had heard that some theory, which I agree would be awesome! Do you think they there put there by the machines or are an error in the programming of the Matrix?

Apparently they use swords in this film as well... I can just imagine the dojo scene again...

Neo: I know Kendo.
Morpheus: Show me.

And what follows is a flawless integration of kendo and other mad stuff. So you get Neo running up walls, whilst doing some wack out of this world forms at light speed. That would rock.

The machines never read comics, or else they would put LOBO as an agent. No Neo would overcome LOBO, man.

The twins are indeed viruses, according to Empire magazine - the actors signed up after starring in some British home improvement show that I've never seen! :teeth:
