One of my kids has OCD and I could use some insights from other parents of OCD kids or someone who was one.
Something I worry about is other kids making fun of him for the stuttering and one of his compulsions. Anyone deal with that?

I'm fit in niether catogory, but I am a school counseling student who has worked with OCD kids, and kids with mental disoders.
Kids can be cruel sometimes. I would talk with the teacher, and she can introduce your kid to the others and explain his speech difficulties. You could also ask the school counselor and teachers observe and see if the ohter kids do make fun. They can both work together to do some interventions such as classroom guidance lessons for the classes, small groups for those particular kids, and individual counesling (if necessary) for you kid.
I sorry to say, but I don't think anything will stop kids completely. Some kids will use things like this to deliberately hurt others. But I would be optimistic that you child will be able to make friends.
And as I said, just have the teacher(s) and school counselors keep track of how your child interacts with others.
Perhaps too, a speech therapist provided by the school can help your child speak better. Is the school providing anything like this?
I will see if I can find some websites that might help.

A speech therapist! What a great idea! I must say that my Dad stutters too and I am so used to it that it has never phased me to get my son into speech therapy.
Thanks, theseed! I'll definitely look into that.
