Actually, only two other states -- Kansas and Texas -- allow 14-year-olds to marry with just parental consent, a search of state statutes shows. Some states allow children to marry at that age or even younger, but set conditions: he or she must be a parent or expecting a child, or the minor must obtain a judge's permission.

How are you going to act?

Yuck--y. Ew. That lady's gross. That kid just grew armpit hair, like, a few weeks ago! What a freak, man. That kid's parents need to get their heads checked. Ew! That kid probably doesn't even shave yet!:eww:

From the story you can tell it was an economical move on the parents part. This lady had wealth and the parents had their house foreclosed and filed for bankruptcy. I hear a Tina Turner song in my head.

Oh! Well, then somebody should've told them about the ghet--to way to get their credit and stuff back- geez, I could've showed them how to be triflin' WITHOUT selling yer kid off to a creepy rich lady.
 I should start a triflin' business! I could sell my ideas and helpful hints on how to be ghet--to. Har!

How are you going to act? Well, I'm glad that I'm from the North. This stuff is in the Bible Belt, not the Liberal Belt.
My opinion stands.

Now that's just plain bigoted. Red necks are everywhere, it's not a regional thing.

See, there's the difference between guys and girls. My first thought was, "well, what's she look like?" Let's face it, every high school guy dreams about an older woman scenario.

Red necks are everywhere, it's not a regional thing. Actually, ignorant people are everywhere. Ignorant yokels in the Bible Belt are called red necks. Besides, I never used that term anyways. But please notice how it says only Louisiana, Kansas, and Texas allow such things. To say that is in the Bible Belt is rather correct.

Mmm, my older woman dreams were limited to a three month older and an eleven month older woman respectively.

IIRC its Pennsylvania (North of the Mason/Dixon line) that has the highest concentration of hate groups.

And I stand be my original assement. Red Necks are everywhere. I've lived all over this great nation and I meet them everywhere I go.

I'll also note it was Idaho which was the headquarters for the Aryan Nations and Montana where the "Freemen" staged their big ol' anti-governmental standoff.
