Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
    “Don’t be afraid…”

Life is a struggle! In fact there are times when life can be seen as fighting a war. Not a physical armed conflict but a conflict with hopelessness, helplessness, depression, and fear. Driving by a gas station, watching the television news, or reading the newspaper are constant reminders that life is not what it suppose to be. Isaiah prophesies, “I am the Lord; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle…” (Isaiah 45:5, NLT)

Your greatest weapon in life’s struggle is God! God gives us the Holy Spirit arming us for the battles we encounter in our everyday walk on the road of life. One of my favorite bible stories is in the 6th chapter of 2nd Kings. “When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.” (2 Kings 6:15–17, NLT)

Chances are “horses and chariots of fire” are not surrounding you as they did Elisha and his servant. However, God has placed his Holy Spirit not only around you but in you to give you whatever you need to progress through each battle moving you closer and closer to the ultimate victory that awaits you.

There are three things we need to learn from the experience of Elisha’s attendant. We need to acknowledge our situation, acknowledge our inability to help ourselves, and ask for help.

God, each and every day we find ourselves surrounded by the overwhelming forces of life’s uncontrollable circumstances. Some of those uncontrollable circumstances we have in common yet others are unique to each of us. Open our “spiritual eyes” so we can see that we are surrounded by your compassionate, understanding, and powerful love. Take our weakened spirit and lift it and fill it with your Spirit and give us the strength and resolve to struggle on. And in our struggles we will experience you in all your glory and power. Amen.

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT)

    Amen Gary!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
