View Full Version : Where there's smoke, there may be a smoking gun!

We've got a thread for the lack of smoking guns. Doesn't seem as though it would ever be necessary to update it--just close it when and if it becomes obsolete. Here's the thread for (potential or actual smoking gun news from Iraq.

Coalition forces digging under new concrete slab in schoolyard. Locals claim that new slab was laid on three succesive nights just before UN weapons inspectors came through. Locals helped prompt investigation by grabbing troops' gas masks and pointing to the slab.

White powder discovered in earlier reports is apparently an explosive:

The above link also chronicles the discovery of an apparent center for training personnel in chemical warfare.

The ricin and Botulinum were found in a camp in NORTHERN IRAQ, this part of Iraq has not been under Hussein's overview for a number of years!

As for the slab, let us wait and see!

Nonetheless, it would confirm statements made by Colin Powell with respect to Iraqi WMD. More to come?

I believe that we already had that covered.

Coalition personnel stationed at Iraqi military compound experience symptoms consistent with exposure to low-level exposure to nerve agents:

And somehow they are all fine now.

One thing no one mentioned is that it was the first test that showed positive results but in two subsequent tests the results were negative.

Even now the report is that the dozen barrels may simply be pesticide and in anycase there are no chemicals of a munitions level sort.

Anyone else notice that in the pictures of the barrels the writing on them is all in English and French with no Arabic in site?

Uh, citation, Pilgrim? Were Gulf War vets all "fine" prior to their "Gulf War Syndrome" symptoms?
Here's an update on the story (April 9th), but with no mention of the soldiers being "fine" nor any confirmation of the barrels having contained mere pesticide.

Why don't you mention it, then, and provide a citation so that your contribution may be double-checked? I started the thread, and I encourage such participation on your part.

The latter is irrelevant, since the direct precusors of chemical weapons count as violations unless another use has been documented.

Because barrels (as everyone knows) must always contain their original contents and/or contain whatever the labels say they contain?

Your comment above is the type of innuendo-laden comment that I find astonishing. Start a different thread if you wish to change the subject, please.

Buried lab equipment found at Iraqi chemical plant, suspected mobile chem-weapons lab found (Eireann will say it may be a military concession stand serving freedom fries and frozen treats ):
