Do any of you (christians, messianic-christians) believe that the prophecy in Luke 21:24 has happened?

"They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jersualem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

Well, as of July 1980, Jersualem was declared the offical capital of Israel. I sort of see this as fulfillment, and that the time of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

What would you consider the fulfillment of the 'times of the Gentiles' being?

shouldn't this be in the christianity section.

learning was addressing the Messianic Christians also, and thus it'd be appropriate for this forum. Though I don't think there are any 'permanent' (in contrast to the 'post and run' type) Messianics on this forum.

Do any of you (christians, messianic-christians)...I don't think you'll get a heavy reply to this question in this section.

sorry, I thought there were a few messianic-christians here.
Here's part of a favourite Psalm of mine, as a blessing to you!

'As the mountains are around Jerusalem
So the Lord is all around His people
Both now and forevermore.'

 This is my second version of this post, the first was lost with a poor reaction in my computer of music and the cite tag. About the only significance this could have here is if one is making a case for Yeshua as true prophet. Nevertheless, I am an Orthodox Preterist whom believes the whole of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 saw fulfillment in 70 A.D. Therefore, I feel I wish to comment on the question in spite of the topic being out of place. The relevant passage is this: Luke 21:20-24 KJV The advice to flee Jerusalem after seeing it's encircled by armies may seem rediculous, however, Josephus reveals in one passage how this would be possible. The Jewish War, Penguin Classics, pages 273-274 Josephus later notes after the very brief reigns of Galba, Otho, and Vitellius, that The Jewish War, Penguin Classics version, page 286 At this point Titus begin the Days of Vengeance. If someone asks Vengeance for whom? I believe Yeshua answers that question himself. Matthew 23:29-36 KJV Paul also reflects this concept: 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 KJV For Yeshua himself: He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.[/U] 42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."]Matthew 21:33-44 KJV And finally, for Yeshua's own servants: Matthew 22: 1-7 KJV However, the question may arise: How great was the indignation against this land (Judaea)? Josephus is so bold as to say The Jewish War, Penguin Classics, page 372 The Gentiles trampled Jerusalem underfoot and razed the city and sanctuary to the ground (The Jewish War, Penguin Classics, p 374) On captivity in other lands, I've not yet pinned down the passage in Josephus cited as fulfillment of a captivity by all nations. As to the phrase "till the times of the gentiles be fulfilled," I find the view you originally mentioned possible, in which case from the Orthodox preterist view he would say what would happen from then on till the appointed time, and that once the time has come the Jews will at last accept the new covenant. Perhaps the return of Israel marks the beginning of this. I do however believe Yeshua reverts to the fall of Jerusalem when speaking of the sign of the Son of Man in Heaven, the collapse of the universe, and the coming on the clouds (for commentary, see Dee Dee Warren's post here: http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12560&page=4&pp=15 )
