Im looking for a bit of feedback on the legitimacy of this view. It basically states that there is no need for Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity etc. because all physical forces (except perhaps gravity) can be explained using classical physics (E&M etc.) Also the reasons for the development of QM have been explained classically (Black Body radiation and Photo-electric effect etc).
The homepage of the authors of these ideas is here: http://www.commonsensescience.org/
And a nice intro paper is found here: http://www.commonsensescience.org/pdf/unification_of_physics.pdf
I would appreciate any info on the validity of these ideas.
Thanks

What a load of nonsense. A bunch of half truths and some outright lies put together by some crackpots.
I honestly don't have enough time to address the pdf file linked above. The response would be twice the length of the crank paper.
According to them the electron violates Maxwell's equations - specifically div B = 0.
Notice how they say this 'ring' model explains stuff but all the references are to the 'stuff' not to the ring models explanation of said stuff.
1) Accusations of serious misconduct such as accusations of lies are not allowed, unless well supported 2) The new improved Cosmogony guidlines explicitly state that this forum is not to be used to bash creationist organizations on either side. IOW Cosmogony is the "play nice" forum of the science building. If you must get nasty, take it to the Locker Room.

Im looking for a bit of feedback on the legitimacy of this view.
While I took a lot of physics in college, I am not qualified to comment on all of this, but one sentence caught my eye as being conspicuously simplistic to me.
On one hand, the particles are said to be point-like; on the other hand, they are known to have a finite size (needed to have a spin, magnetic moment and the distribution of charge referenced in the next paragraph). This inconsistency in modern science is incompatible with a Judeo-Christian world view of consistency where expediency is rejected and contradictions are never allowed
This seems to ignore a very simple verse.
Therefore once more I will astound these people
with wonder upon wonder;
the wisdom of the wise will perish,
the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."
This verse is also quoted in 1 Corinthians 1:19.
This universe is a lot more complicated than many of us may want to believe. Dismissing a theory simply because it is complex is foolish. Complexity does not prove a theory either, but Quantum Mechanics has been shown to be incredibly consistent with observation, despite the constant attacks of brilliant men like Albert Einstein.

First off, I actually posted more of a layperson's article on this theory. If you want to look more at the underpinning and the math and physics, perhaps asking instead of incinuating evil.
Here is a more detailed work critiquing Maxwell etc. .

However I would still really appreciate some comments besides, everything the majority of scientists must be okay eventhough they have to resort to some nutty things to try to unify GR and QM.

I believe they dismiss the theory because of contradictions as well as finding a simplier way of describing things (death by Occam).
If one can show that classical ideas did not need to die because of the photoelectric effect and blackbody radiation, then I would say more power to them.

Well since GR and QM have not been unified your comment of 'nutty things' seems to be jumping the gun, does it not?
