Have you ever received one of those emails where it says if you forward this to 10 people God will give you a miracle at a specified number of hours? A couple of weeks ago I received one such message that specified 4 hours so I sent it on and waited for my miracle. I’m still waiting! Maybe just living for four more hours was my miracle. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place for it. Maybe there was a power failure in heaven and all the celestial clocks stopped. Maybe God does not measure time as we do. Maybe my miracle will come at some unforeseen (at least by me) time when my need for it is the greatest.
The Apostle Paul wrote to us long ago, “So now, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith in his promises, we can have real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
(The road to rightness is called repentance.)
For because of our faith, he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be.
(And you thought only in the United States Army can you be all you can be.)
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.
(Mistakes and problems remain as such until we learn and grow from them. The road to trust isn’t always smooth.)
Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
(Anyone who feels and experiences love is undefeatable. That same spirit that hovered over the deep abyss before the earth came into being now hovers over your life.)
When we were utterly helpless with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for him.”
(Jesus measures time in heart beats not minutes and hours so when the beating of your heart warrants his undivided attention HE WILL BE ON TIME!)
(Romans 5:1 – 5:6 LVB)
