I don't often post in the polisci forum but I thought this might generate some interest. I got it from the Opinionjournal.com Best of The Web page. Anne Nicol Gaylor of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, as reported here (http://www.madison.com/captimes/news/stories/46409.php), is whining about Mother Teresa being on this month's Madison city bus pass.
Anne Nicol Gaylor is mother of Annie Laurie Gaylor, who is married to that self-appointed atheist genius, Dan Barker.

Good for her. Teresa was the cause of so much suffering that one might almost have mistaken her for the anti-christ.
Except that she wasn't clever enough.

Oh, for the love of Pete! These people need to see psychologists about their phobia of anything and everything religious.

Oh Jinx, didn't you hear -- that emotional Gaylor female's protest reached the ears of the President, and in response he has decided to declare April 1 "National Atheism Day".

He can't do that! It'd overlap with Creationist Day!

Haha, you could have just said: "I know you are but what am I?" It would have been faster to type and about as original. :brow:

Heh...
Did you hear when former Minnesota governor Jesse "the Mind(less)" Ventura kowtowed to an atheist special-interest group and declared July 4, 2002, as "Indivisible Day" in celebration of "one nation, indivisible?" Here's the story:
Ventura's 'Indivisible Day' proclamation riles some (http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/3595354.htm)
Of course, what's really funny is later in the year, he mistakenly (divine providence, perhaps?) proclaimed "Christian Heritage Week" in October:
Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura Mistakenly Proclaims 'Christian Heritage Week' (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,59285,00.html)
Too funny!

Wouldn't expect snooty to understand the reference to Psalm 14:1.

Don't people have better things to do than crusade against a mother theresa bus pass? I mean sure she was a great enough person to get a nobel peace prize, but a bus pass? Now they've gone too far!:argh:

You familiar with the controversy over her? Read Hitchens or the Indian writers?
Didn't think so.

I have. Typical hatred of those who get pissed that MT didn't follow the Chinese line of advice.

Yeah, these rabid misotheists hate the fact that MT was awarded the Nobel Peace prize for her amazing self-scarifice for the poor in Calcutta. They probably have no problem with the award of the Peace Prize to the terrorist leader Arafat.

Hey, Arafat's numerous wars of attrition give a death ratio at something like 3-4 Palestinians for every Israeli, thus keeping the population at a "suitable" low-to-negative growth level, despite the massive size of Palestinian families. It's a little messier and out-in-the-open than something like China's abortion/sterilization system, but I'm sure the birth statistic-worshipers at infidels.org are happy with the results. He's trying!
