I apologize if this has been asked before, and, if it has, feel free to ignore the thread. Does anyone (Dee Dee?) have a partial preterist interpretation of the two witnesses of Revelation? Preferrably one that does not involve gnostic numerelogical theories. Do you think it was fulfilled in 70 A.D., and we do not know the details? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Greetings JW, I am not going to be too much help at this point due to a lack of time. Very briefly the two witness are the law and the prophets - they are symbolic as they law and the prophets were defiled in the behaviour of the apostates, especially as the city became over-run and dominated by warring factions. If I had time to dig through my reference materials (which once again are in huge pile in storage due to our remodeling project) I could get more specific. I am really focusing my energies right now in mastering the Olivet Discourse and developing in my mind a thesis I have on the "coming" of Christ as being a present and progressive reality that even further puts to paid the noxious heresy of NeoHymenaeanism.

Thanks, Dee Dee. Good luck with your Olivet Discourse project. I look forward to reading it.

I do not think the preterists do have a good explanation for the two witnesses of Revelation. I will let you be the judge though and look at the TWEB thread which discusses this issue at: "Who are the Two Witnesses of Rev 11?" at: http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26592
Sincerely,
Ken

He has whirlwhinded through Eschatology digging up old threads just to "ra ra" someone. That is considering a form of trolling.

I think she is digging a grave for preterism.
