I have a member who is having issues accessing our forums on a Mac. She can access the home page but crashes each time she tries to access the forums. I am wondering if this is an all around Mac issue or just something she is experiencing.

I have both Macs and PCs at my job. I only use IE for internet access, and I cannot get to the forums on either system if I try to use the "forum" button at the top. I have to click on a "latest discussion" link.

Wesley's, what happens when you hit the forums button?

Hey,

I have a pretty good idea what is causing you're problem, Wesley. Please bear with me as I try to get something worked out.

What about the problem of the other user I mentioned AJ?

She could try turning JavaScript off, or using Internet Explorer.

I'm working on a better fix.

I have a Macintosh. I don't have any problem accessing TWeb. The only problem I do have is that with IE I can't read anything because the screen is flashing all the time due to all the smilies. So I use Navigator instead.

It doesn't like our smilies?

Bad, IE, bad!!! :uhoh:

AJ, remember who you are talking to. How in the world do you turn Javascript off?

First, you go down to your local Starbucks and request 1 javascript.

Does anyone hear someone talking??

I would imagine no since they are reading this. Those voices you are hearing have nothing to do with the site. After you leave Starbucks I would suggest you go and pay Freak a visit.

Bad, Yx, bad. :bonk:

So, is the person with the problems with the site crashing you?

To be honest, I've never used a Mac, so I don't know how to turn it off. In IE, it would be Tools->Internet Options. In Netscape/Mozilla/Conquerer, it would be Edit->Preferences. In Safari, it would be in the options, somewhere.

Macs RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULE!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

hehe... but anyway, I'm on an ibook, and I've accessed the site from both Mozilla and IE and it has worked just fine for me...

I want an iBook. :frown:

But I am glad it is working for you! I wonder if the problem may be Safari? :hrm:

I had a lot of problems with Safari, which is why I promptly took it off of the dock after I used Mozilla for 20 minutes... Safari is uberfast, but it's more finicky than anything I've used.

*sigh* Unfortunately I'm in the process of trying to sell mine... "Angel" doesn't pay the rent. Also unfortunate, no one has taken my up on the offer yet.

I just found out that I can't load the chat on Mozilla, that's absolutely the only thing that's gone wrong, though... and I've had similar problems on this browser, so that's no biggie.

We're thinking about switching to Mac. I've about had it with this machine.

Good!!!!! Best thing I can suggest!!!!! :joy:

Seriously, PC's are awful, and there are enough Mac users that the issue of there not being enough software or compatibility goes right out the window.

The chat requires java so if you don't have a java machine preferrably the one offered by Sun you will have no luck getting in the chat.

oh, I have absolutely no problem getting into it from IE, but Mozilla always gives me issues with simple things like clicking on buttons on some other sites.

Well, I'm using a Mac with Safari and it seems to be working fine.

I've never tried Safari with this site, but it wouldn't let me sign into hotmail at all, and yahoo about half the time, and compare that with mozilla (camino) which just gives me trouble with java and the occasional button...
