When will Sheepdog find a job?

Alright. Just like millions of other Americans (especially recent grads, of which I'm one), I am struggling to find a real career. But, I figured, why should I have all the fun? Why can't others be entertained by my misery?

So we'll play a game. Make a guess at what date I'll actually find a job. When (if?) the time comes, the person who guesses closest to the real date, he or she will get 5 of my pearls (quite possibly the most coveted pearls on TWeb :tongue:).

well i have a game plan, for the most part. i've decided i will likely enroll in a technical school to work on certification in network administration or something similar. i'd probably try to get a part time job on the side.

but i did find an interesting lead. a web design position, looking for someone who knows PHP or CGI (i'm experienced in PHP well enough to say i know it), and "Knowledge of Networking a plus along with being a people person."

the ad was a tad old, so i dunno if the position is even still available. but, i'm excited.

the only thing is, i'd have to move to Detroit. :shocked: perhaps its time to learn self-defence :yog: :ninja:

not yet. i have a million monkeys typing away at computer terminals, searching for a job, but lately we've shifted over to finding a different apartment to move to.

there is a good chance i'll have an internship sometime mid-to-late August (if not September). i'll keep you guys informed.

i have been pretty busy on the weekends lately. maybe this weekend

I officially have an interview next Tuesday, June 14th. however, since i can't gaurantee this will certainly pan out, you have another shot. Can't guess June 14, since that would be too easy, but any otehr date between now and infinity minus one is allowed. one guess per each individual, muz. :poke:

just so you know, for two of these i now have second interviews coming up. the other one was for a recruiting firm, but i'm confident at least one of the others is going to turn out good. in both cases the interviewers were impressed. (the first one outright said so!)

Joan Wins. I had my second day of training for a computer support company. I'll be doing jobs by contract, and though i won't get in a full 40 hrs/wk (if what the guy says is so), it pays really well.

for the record, the official day i was hired was Aug. 5, 2005.

Se what kind of place are you working and what kind of work are you doing?

sorry, i was going to go back to my post and fill in more details. i'm doing contract work in computer support. basically we will be servicing computer and network problems for smaller companies and residential users that can't afford full time IT staff or otherwise are computer illiterate.

i enjoyed the training. i think it will be good, especially for experience.
