Was reading these verses today (2 Kings 16:1-2; compared with 2Kings 18:1,2) and noticed this. It is also confirmed in 2 Chronicles as well. Okay, I know this is not a contradiction, but it does seem strange. I've found a couple of commentaries that try to answer this. I was just trying to see what some people with more knowlege of exegesis than I would have to say.

FWIW Generally speaking numbers are the easiest thing to be corrupted in textual transmission, hence why you get the passage "And Saul was two years old when he began to reign..." So I generally don't get worked up over problems with numbers.

Yeah, that was what one of the commentaries I read had mentioned. And I understand that. Just wondering if anyone else had different ideas about this one.
