Yow! That's a hard one...

Hmm... Well, I'll have to list some doubles, as they're too close to call on my list:

Favourite hero: Lessingham, Mistress of Mistresses by E. R. Eddison; also, John Carter, A Princess of Mars et al. by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Favourite villian: Iago's a good 'un, alright, but I'll have to say Lord Gro, The Worm Ouroboros by E. R. Eddison

Favourite anti-hero: Can I call him 'anti-hero' if he starts out really bad/nasty but becomes a good kind before the story's end? If so, then Billy Byrne, The Mucker and Return of the Mucker by Edgar Rice Burroughs (if I have to stick with someone who stays an anti-hero, then I'll go with Elric, too)

Favourite sidekick: Bridge (aka "The Unabridged"), Return of the Mucker and The Oakdale Affair by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Favourite ladies: Lady Fiorinda and Lady Mary Scanlon, Mistress of Mistresses and A Fish Dinner in Memizon by E. R. Eddison; Dejah Thoris, A Princess of Mars et al. by Edgar Rice Burroughs

The (you should never leave out the ladies) Curtmudgeon

My favourite character from before I was a Christian was Zorba the Greek, from the novel by Kazantzakis.

For the whole list, they can be filled from my reading of recent times, but it is a toss up between the characters in Dostoyevsky's Brothers Karamazov - Fyodor, Ivan, Dimitri, Alyosha, etc and Williams' Many Dimensions - Lord Arglay, Chloe Burnett, Sir Giles Tumulty.

To Solly:
No, it doesn't. I don't even think they are villains, techinically. They are the antagonist to the human protagonist, though, so thats how they got categorized. They are my favorite Sci-fi alien race, though.

Favorite hero: Aragorn (Is it because I find him attractive? Probably so.) In the non-sexually attractive realm, Albus Dumbledore.

Favorite Jane Austen hero: Mr. Knightley (Emma)

Favorite villain: If movies count, Darth Vader or Agent Smith. If not... Lucius Malfoy, though he isn't so major (Unfortunately this list is going to be very nerd fandom heavy... I do read other works, but I seem to be particularly attached to my fantasy characters.) Oh, how can I forget Mr. Kurtz?!? (Heart of Darkness) In real life, Hermann Goering.

Favorite minor character: Sirius Black

Favorite anti-hero: Amen to Raskolnikov. That's my cat's surname.

Favorite female role models: Galadriel, Eowyn, Professor McGonagall
