My late wife was Jewish although not religious that I could tell. What is the fate of un-observant Jewish women when they die. My in-laws are Jewish as well, though again, not particularly religious. My daughter, I've been told, is Jewish because her mother was. What is the fate of apparently non-religious people who claim to be Jewish, but aren't by self-admission religious. I'm from a Christian background, but am currently athiest if that makes any difference.

Well, I remember that the afterlife in Jewish belief differs with certain groups. I know that some Chasidim believe a form of reincarnation. Others believe in a form of purgatory. I'm not sure if that helps you or not.

It would be improper for me to render judgement on anyone - that is God's job. However, I can tell you that the only way to God is Jesus.

Guys this is a theist section, however steamer your question did seem relevant here to make an exception. However, if you are wanting to broadbrush or denounce Christianity that wouold be more appropriate, as coming from an atheist, in Apologetics.

If they lived a good life, they lived a good life. The Jewish tradition is not overly concerned with an afterlife. Those Jewish people who believe in an afterlife believe that if a soul is not ready for heaven, it will be in a state similar to purgatory (Ghenna) for up to a year, and then either go to heaven, or be granted oblivation.

There are a number of Christians that believe that Jesus was the gate, and
opened it.
