Okay guys, on our main forum pages we have a special announcements banner section where you currently can see our advertisment for our "I Had My Baby" t-shirt. We are going to be making this area available for fun banners by our members in order to have an entertaining way to contribute a bit to TheologyWeb and get your message seen.

So how about this? Do you have a member that you are stumping for to get elected Alumnus of the Month? Why don't you make a banner for their "campaign" to get elected? You can run a banner ad on our forums page for your candidate for the mere contribution of $5/two week run.

Of course we reserve the right to refuse any banner done in bad taste etc, but none of our members would do that.

So why don't you have some fun and help us pay our server fees.

That is a really, really great idea. I won't be able to participate for a few months ( :frown: ), but I think that's REALLY awesome.

You are going to let RightIdea down like that? Dang.

Look at all the hard work Hammy has done for RI - someone should sponsor a banner for him

Would these appear between posts, like the current banners are?

No this would be on our main forum page where the Anti-Abortion t-shirt is now appearing. We want to have something fun but not distract from our commerical advertisers who are paying significantly more for the ad space.

Ahh, I see.. very cool.. I'll probably do up some anti-abortion ones when the time comes...

Are you going to be accepting of all views or just those which TWeb condones (e.g. what if someone wants to put up a pro-choice ad?) Just curious

Now if anyone just wants to become a regular supporter, they get one freebie a year. This really is just a shamelessly fun way to try to raise some monetary support for the site.

I plan on supporting through the wazoo when I have a regular income :thumb:

Oh right now I am using political facetiously - but we are going to be doing a program of member banners in which one's position can be stated on other issues - and we will absolutely not allow what we find objectionable. It is the same as with our commerical sponsors.
