I've been a computer gamer from a very early age. At the moment my favourite games are Command and Conquer - Generals and Dungeon Siege. If I get my PS2 back I'll probably buy Xenosaga. I played a lot of Final Fantasies as well.
At the moment as I type this message, Ultima Online is installing. If anyone wants to warn me about this game do it now, 'cos it'll be too late later on! :teeth:
But yeah, Generals is a good game. It's like the old Red Alert game but with Iraq, US and China, and modern day weaponry. great fun!
What do you guys like playing?

My favorite games right now are:
Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge
Descent 3
Half-Life - Counterstrike (although I really suck)
Civilization II
I haven't had much time for gaming lately though. :frown:

Need for Speed 3. :thumb: Ever notice how the music matches what happens to your car? I always liked that little touch.

arrrghh don't play UO!! it's gonna suck your life!
I swear, I curse the day I installed Ultima Online. next thing I knew I was too busy macroing my skills in tailor and blacksmithing, to see it rise about 0,5% a day!
I stopped playing it when, in a berserk state, I uninstalled it, deleted the directory, removed the shortcut and broke the installation CD. that was my salvation.
anyway, have you played the Baldur's Gate series? now that's good rpg!!

Wimps...
Here are GOOD games:
Halo
Battlefield 1942
Civilizations III
Medieval: Total War
Deus Ex (though this game is too long and engrossing for Christians to spend a lot of time on)
So I don't play them anymore. But when I did, I ruled! Man, you guys gotta toughen up. :-P

-edited to add to the list
In the past four or five years I've played and beaten (most of them completely, if not 85-90%, secret/goodies wise) the following (those that are multiplayer, I played a lot online as well):
Computer games (favorites marked by *):
Wing Commander: Privateer II
X-COM: UFO Defense
X-COM II: Terror from the Deep
X-COM: Intercepter
*C&C: Red Alert
Kohan: Arhiman's Gift
*Civilization II
Final Fantasy VII
*Half-Life: Counter-Strike (MANY hours logged...stupid AWP snipers...)
Half-Life (original game, Opposing Force, and a few other expansions)
Starcraft (original)
Starcraft: Broodwar
*Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, and Beyond the Dark Portal expansion pack
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
***Morrowind (Lord, save me from this game this summer!)
*Deus Ex Machina
Heroes of Might and Magic III
Descent I and II
*Homeworld
Tribes I
Tribes II
Axis and Allies
Diablo II (woah, lots of time on this one...) and its expansion
Age of Empires
Shogun Total War
Thief (this one I didn't get far in, but spent lots of time on)
Lords of Magic
Unreal Tournament 2003
Castles: Siege and Conquest
*Myth: The Fallen Lords
Myst
Monkey's Island (LOL)
Space Quest VI (or VII?)
I'm sure there are more...
I'd currently like to pick up FreeLancer, as open RPGs in space are totally my ticket.
Yeah, I was an addict. This doesn't even mention the 30+ games I beat on the N64, the 10+ on the Game Cube (oh, wow Metriod was awesome) and Dream Cast (Skies of Arcadia was great). There were a number of gameboy games in there, including Golden Sun the RPG.
Now I spend my time on theology. (From one idol to another...)
I would gladly trade the time I spent on those worthless (albeit very fun) games for reading of interesting and mind-growing books instead.
*sigh*
At least I've learned my lesson.

I can't believe nobody has said anything about Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
It's a great game for anyone who likes online fps's. I highly recommend it. :thumb:
Another game that I liked alot was Top Gun. Good flight sim, but unfortunately it won't run on 2K, or XP so it sits on a shelf collecting dust.

One of the best games ever is Wings by Cinemaware. It's a wonderful WW1-based game, which puts you in the role of a pilot, fighting over France.
The gameplay takes several forms, the most memorable being the superb arcade-style flight-sim sections. You even come up against the Red Baron later in the game. But the game is made by the music and the excellent between-mission log-book entries. It's really immersive.
It was originally released on the Amiga in 1990, but a Gameboy Advance version has just been released, and a PC version - Wings Remastered (http://www.cinemaware.com/wingsremaster_main.asp) - is due out soon.
(edit: According to the Website of ClickBoom (http://www.clickboom.com), the developers who were responsible programming duties for Wings Remastered, Cinemaware may have gone out of business, and the game may not see the light of day after all)

If you have XP, there are some workarounds that you can do to get a game that "only" works on earlier versions to work on XP. PM me if you are interested ... and I'll see if I can find you the instructions again ... I had to do this recently for one of my "older" (read puchased in February 2003) games ... but I forget off-hand the config settings.

I played EQ for three years.
simchat, what server were you on? I was on Fennin Ro.
Currently I am playing Shogun: Total War (Warlord Edition) and taking over Japan for the 20th time.
I am also playing Romance otTK VII and taking over China for the 12th time or so (PS2).
I am looking to buy Dynasty Warriors 4 for when GP moves back into my neighborhood.
Oh, for you online gamers, how about Middle Earth (www.middle-earthonline.com)?

I'm a big Warcraft 3 player. Though lately I'm more king of the "Use Map Settings" maps.
Then again, I had the presence of mind to reserve "InfestedArthas" as a screen name nearly as soon as I got the game. Then went and put it on my D2 and SC accounts.
