A pessemistic view of society

A line from one of my favorite artists, Pedro the Lion, been stuck in my head a few days and really is a sombering view of our culture.

Power can be such a tease
You're always wanting more
It's good to know that just like sex
It can be paid for.


Especially in the context of the story album "Winners Never Quit", kinda sinks in.

I always liked the bit from "Options" that goes:

I could never divorce you
Without a good reason
And though I may never have to
It's good to have options

Makes me hurt to hear that sung, cause I know people who think that way.
