How does Tweb know that I am "on" the site? It obviously knows when I logon, but how does it know when I shut down the computer or move on to some other site? And how about non-members?

It is cookie based. It tracks your movements on the site but if you leave without logging out the cookie just expires on it's own. If you go to another site it does not know. It only tracks movement on TWeb. Non-members is same thing.
