It is an image viewer.

It does not modify images much, other than the basics.(such as convert, optimize, etc)

I suppose I'm simply having GIMP withdrawls. Even though I only had it for a matter of hours and couldn't figure out how to effectively use it right away . It just started making my computer give me the heebie jeebies so I took it off. I may try it again later...

Irfanview is a free image viewer and converter. Because of the number of graphic files it can support (gif, jpg, png...) it is one nice program to have in your toolbox.

Are there any problems with it?

I use it even though I have Photoshop 7, and Paintshop among others cause for a simple image viewer it is excellent. If a person's only imaging is to optomize, convert or resize images.....its the way to go :thumb:

As for problems.....any .gif images can not add or remove and lose transparency.

What happened with the GIMP?

(Sorry man, it seems every software I tell you to try screws up. You're never gonna trust me again!)

The GIMP jumped up, threw out his MS Word and spit on his Start Menu and piddled all over his MS Paint then ran off with his Media Player. :yx:

I'm not sure if it was even the gimp. More than likely I'll end up getting it again. I'll probably just download it and keep in on my HDD zipped till I get brave again :teeth: Someone pointed out a help file for it. I needed that and now I"ll probably reconsider.
