Exorcist: The Beginning

Okay, I just read that they are releasing a prequel to "The Exorcist" this summer. I just was curious how everyone feels about the original film from a Christian standpoint. IMO, it was very vulgar at times, but also quite thought provoking, as it was supposedly based on a true story. Anyway, what are everyone's thoughts?

hmmmm, not too realistic.. I don't think that God would allow one of Satans angels (a demon) to fully possess such a young child so completely. I think he would step in to put an end to it, before it would get to such a point....
I mean, even Job didn't have it so bad, and he was an older man, being tested.. Remember The Lord GAVE Satan permission to mess with him, meaning Satan had to ASK PERMISSION first.. Just something to ponder on..
An innocent child? I dont think so....

Well, my only problem is the same as all exorcisms in hollywood films. Why is it only the Catholics that film thinks can do an exorcism? Let Smith Wigglesworth or William Seymour walk in to the room and the demond go a flying. As far as the movies go, they are typical Hollywood propaganda on the basic powerlessness of the Church as a whole. I didn't like either the original or the sequel.

The Exorcist is a movie I just can't watch.... must be my age, or something. When I was a teenager, I watched all kinds of stuff, and rode all kinds of wild amusement rides, etc. and now, at 28, I can't do those things anymore. They both freak me out. I even tried to climb the roof of my grandmother's house to clean her gutters not too long ago, and I was soooo scared.:huh: I don't know why. It just felt freaky to me, I had to get down!
The Exorcist terrified me, though, even when I was a teen. I think it's because the girl was so young. I never have liked movies like that (about kids being demon possessed, kids going on a killing spree, etc.), and I hated the Chucky movies, too. Oh! And evil clowns that kill people, too. Little kids, cute dolls, and clowns are not supposed to freak out like that. I have never been able to sit through any of those movies.
