Hey, does anyone have an opinion to share regarding Legends of the Jews by Louis Ginzberg, translated into English around 1840?

I thought it might be nice to have on hand at home, since I'm lazy and don't read Hebrew. It's supposed to be most(?) the Haggadah/stories, like the backstory for Dinah, arranged chronologically by event. Keeping in mind that these stories are not dependable, or are something like commentary, is this a fine thing to have on hand, or is it patronizing or distorting of Jewish folklore?

Is there anywhere where this can be read online?

yes, though I don't know if there are variance/dependability problems with the etexts.
Here's a big Google (http://www.google.com/search?q=legends+of+the+jews+louis+ginzberg&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) List.
Of the texts that google up, I like this site (http://www.sacred-texts.com/jud/loj/) because the chapter index is conveniently organized.
