Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    Glory Seed Devotional 11/07/2014
    A Glory Seed Devotional

“The man who had been dead came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with strips of burial cloth, and a cloth covered his face. Jesus then told the people, “Untie him and let him go.”” (John 11:44, CEV)

Lazarus was dead. For four days. Jesus prayed for Lazarus. God heard, listened, and breathed new life into Lazarus. Lazarus was untied and let free. Lazarus lived. There’s a 100% chance that has not happened to you but you have been untied and set free. I know I have. This time last year I was recuperating from a potentially deadly heart attack, I was untied and set free from the grip of the grim reaper.

Perhaps you have been untied and set free as I was or if not from a heart attack maybe some other life threatening experience. Possibly you think you’ve never been in a life threatening situation, but you have and because of Jesus you’ve been untied and let go of the silent serial killer…Sin. The apostle Paul explains, “Christ sacrificed his life’s blood to set us free, which means that our sins are now forgiven. Christ did this because God was so kind to us. God has great wisdom and understanding, and by what Christ has done, God has shown us his own mysterious ways.” (Ephesians 1:7–9, CEV)

There are many ways life ties us and tries to lock us away. Some of those ways include low self esteem, fear, hopelessness, discouragement, depression, pride, greed, prejudice. As powerful as they are in response to our cry for help Jesus sends the Holy Spirit who is in the business of untying and setting you free from the shackles that bind you.

    Let’s pray…

Almighty, loving, compassionate, and forgiving God from earths humble shore we cross the boundary time and space thanking you for the life we have and for the life we will yet experience. Lord, you know we live in a world that in many ways has turned away from you and in so doing is trying to entangle us in its web of worldliness. Lord, we believe in the ultimate untying and letting go of Jesus when the stone was rolled away. It is our prayer for the blessing of freedom from the worldly entanglements that plague us and for the strength to fight off further temptations. We pray and offer our lies to you in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Freedom…Amen.

Open your eyes to it! Experience it! Believe it! Be transformed by it!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Thanks for this Crusty. I especially liked the concluding prayer, though there is an error that needs correction:

"We pray and offer our lies to you in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Freedom…Amen"
