Is the Lord's Supper commanded? Is it an ordinance? Where in the Bible?

Is there a perpetual command by Jesus to do the Lord's Supper?

I'm terrible about quoteing scripture, but in the story of the last supper Christ says something to the effect of "Do this as often as ye shall drink it for rememberance of me" (for the wine) and something similar for the bread. This might lead one to think that every time they eat or drink they should think of consumeing Christ. However, I think the apostle Paul revised this, setting it as a special cermony seperate from just eating and drinking. I know it's viewed as a sacrament by most churches. A sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. So I would say it isn't a command, but rather something we do when we feel like it (or moved to do it... sometimes I have trouble with words).
