New Testament Biographies

I figure Church History is the best forum to post this in, so: Can anyone recommend a good book, or books as the case is likely to be, concerning the lives of NT characters? I've found snippets here and there about SS. Luke and Mark (I've only started research today), but if there is anything more exhaustive I would surely appreciate it. =)
