Do you tihnk the Dow will go up, down, or stay about the same over the next year?

I personally predict it is going to go up at a slight rate (though there may be one or two large jumps and one or two large drops). I would not be surprised to see it top or approach the all time high this year.

I see continued moderate growth combined with the continuing rise in interest rates.

Although it's not the Dow Jones (average), the S&P 500 fared poorly in 2005: not more the 5 whole percentage points, in contrast with the Wilshire 2500 (small cap). What's the deal...? Seems like the blue-chip companies are too sluggish to keep up, and I wonder why is that now...? I'm betting another poor performance this year: my investments are gonna suffer if I'm wrong...!

:offtopic:

By the way, I saw that the Hong Kong government LINK Reit started off well at it's initial offering in early December, and China's economy has gained well these last few years... Anybody here been investing outside of the U.S...?

The Dow has been quite good. It recently closed at over 11,000 for the first time since 2001. We're living in a strong economy, folks.

I would not be surprised to see it top or approach the all time high this year. If I recall correctly that is pretty close to last year's prognostication.I think I called for a 7-9% up. Missed badly but I'll up the ante this year. I expect to get to the low doubles 11-13%

Take care

Its a wide swing.

Well I didnt know this was the same thread, My guess was overall higher for last year than this year. Even so I'll stick with the low doubles.
