As many of you know, January 26 will make our two year anniversary as a site :badger:!

In order to celebrate, anyone who logs on from 12:10am to midnight EST on 1/26/05 and makes at least 5 posts will be entered into a random drawing for a $25 credit to the TWeb store. The winner will select an item up to that amount with shipping and we will pick up the tab and have it sent to them. The prize must be claimed within 15 days or it will go to the next one on the list and so on.

What time is that GMT?

dizzle
January 24th 2005, 09:48 AM
Hmm I don't know. Can anyone calculate? (and if an overseas person wins we will kick in more for the shipping, the dollar value was figured for the average shirt plus shipping in America)

It's alright, I missed that it was for all day anyway.

Do you get more chances if you have more posts?

Em7add11
January 24th 2005, 12:51 PM
GMT = EST + 5

So 5:10am 1/26/05 - 5:00am 1/27/04

(I think those are the dates you meant, it says 1/16 in the OP)

Okay this starts in just a few hours now.

Some quick rules/answers

No - no more chances for more posts, anyone who posts 5 has an equal chance EXCEPT for leadership. Sorry guys but this is for the members.

Also, in the event of some unforseeable computer problems (can't say what they would be - ergo unforseeable) we do reserve the right to have to redo the contest on another day. Hopefully that will not be the case.

Winner will be announcement on this thread, and notified by PM/email and have 15 days to claim.

I found a good verse to reason from the scriptures with a JW on worshiping Jesus. At 2Cor 12, in their bible it talks about the troubles that Paul was having (correct me if I'm wrong) and he says he entreated the Lord three times.
The word entreat means bassically to beg, to ask with one's heart. In their bible the Lord replys back to Paul, and the Lord says that his power has been made perfect in his weakness (sorry I don't have their bible with me as I'm typing), and thereafter Paul says he would rather be in Christ to have His power be over him (to be protected by Christ)
I believe this verse shows a big contradiction in the JW's teachings, and cannot be ignored based on their Reasoning from the Scriptures guide. When we ask, we are in prayer. To live is to live for God with his power over you (and it clearly says that it is Christ's power). I have not seen this verse presented in any JW book, and believe it to be a great verse to read.

At Romans 8 (it may be 10) we read of how their are 2-choices, one being death, and the other life, and that since those who are lead by the Spirit we can be called God's son's in the after life. The JW teach that only the 144,000 can be called God's sons. Ask the JW if the argue with you, "if you say that you print your bible as simple as possible, then why is their clear confussion here?)
