What are you doing to feel better?

This is knocking me on my rear! I have vomiting, horribly achy joints, fever with chills, and so much congestion in my chest, it ain't even funny. I have to say, this is prolly one of the worst bugs I've ever gotten. :bawl: Nothing I do seems to alleviate my symptoms. I have to go to school all day today, too- until 5:15 tonght (my professors this semester are all strict on attendance), else I'd just skip. This is going to really suck today. :frown:

We have something similar doing the rounds in the UK r00bz; wifey has it at the moment. Sorry to hear it; keep warm and drink plenty of liquids.

Hrm, Lactobacillus Acidophilus (the stuff that's in yogurt that makes yogurt good for you), calms the stomach, replaces the lost natural bacterial colony in your digestive system (usually lost from vomiting and/or diahrrea). You can get it in pill form and avoid eating the yogurt. Since you're pregnant, I wouldn't suggest Echinacea, otherwise, it's great for fighting off viruses and infections if you don't have any special extenuating circumstances like pregnancy and/or auto-immune disease (chronic arthritis, aids, hiv, lupis, etc) or allergies to flowers in the daisy family (it's in the daisy family). Zinc is good for fighting infections and viruses, but make sure to read the label. They tend to put echinacea with zinc these days, and you should probably avoid the echinacea just to be on the safe side. Celestial Seasonings "Grandma's Tummy Tea" (or something like that), just sip it very frugally, in teeny tiny sips separated in time for about 15 minutes or so, to keep from vomiting up the fluids. Soda crackers, tiny bites, if you can keep it on your stomach.

I had it this past weekend. Fever, vomiting, air and water show, head aches, achyness- the whole nine yards. It sucks. I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

take care

Your name reminded me of something I read. There's a chemical in avocados that has been known to kill AIDS in a test tube. I dunno if they've decided to manufacture it synthetically for treatment, but then things that work in test tubes don't always work in humans. Interesting piece of info though.

I can't quite compete in sickness to all of you, but I do have a rather nasty bug of some sort! Our entire school all acquired it at the same time. Lots of coughing, runny noses, and sneezes. It will supposedly go away in approximately 2 weeks, say the fortunate few who have already emerged from it. Ick.
