There's too much noise (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,6903,1418611,00.html) in the world and not enough meaningful signal. This led me to thinking about what noise is and why there's noise to begin with.
There's too many people subjecting others to their own subjective realities. Thereby creating more noise. This happens a lot, especially at religious institutions, where religion is highly subjective. Now, don't get me wrong. Subjectivity is not wrong, nor is religion. It's when our subjectivity is out of balance with objectivity that it becomes "noise" and a problem.
I've experienced too many people brainwashed and trying to brainwash others. Too many people unable to contemplate and cope with the objective reality in which we live. Too much craziness in the world. This is more so traumatic for children, who at a young age rely on their teachers and elders to teach truth. This is what I believe causes rebellion and all the mental and emotional problems children face today. They are crying out to find objectivity because their parents and teachers are failing them.
It's true that we can only experience reality through are own subjective conciousness and we are all out of touch a bit, but to grow in accuracy, one needs to compare and relate that conciousness to the objectivity around them. When our subjective conciousness agrees with the objective world around us, this is living in reality, and then we are able to improve ourselves and help others in our world. This is how we should deal with our relationships with others as the world opens to you.

To give an example of the importance of this matter, I went to a conservative radio talk show website that had copies of the beheadings of many of the hostages in the middle east. I downloaded them, watched them, and it made me sick. I've never seen an actual video of a human's throat being slit while he was alive. Frightened, then screaming as the victim knew his throat was being slit...the blood pours out...his completely severed trachea gasping for precious air and the gurgling sound it made as he choked on his own blood....I felt sick to my stomach. I went to my room and I had to cover myself and pray to the Almighty and tried to contemplate it all.
I'm not usually emotional, but I cried a bit knowing that there are people so brainwashed, so tied in to their own subjectivity, they are willing to commit such a murder. What did the victim do to deserve it? Did he not live in the right country? ...read the right book? What can I do to stop such a thing from happening again? ...so many questions and concerns I had and still have.
"And [Adonai] called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?"
- B'Resheet 3:9
Those murders are the drastic extent of what happens when someone's subjective conciousness is out of tune with the objective world and they manifest that conciousness. That manifestation is the fall, and the beginning of evil. Where art thou? Are you merely manifesting your subjective reality, disregarding the objective world?
If we all focus on strong communication and understanding between our subjective and objective realities, we create an ever increasing signal and connection. This is how to find truth. This is the first step in kiruv - hebrew for "closening". This is coming to grip with reality and stepping in the right direction. I pray everyone reaches that path so that we all can collectively heal the world.
