and since I don't have access to the sorority I figured I'd ask here.
I've been hearing a lot about peri-menopause, and my girlfriend is closing in on the age when it usually hits. Does anyone here know if it would have an effect on her fertility if it did happen?

All women are a bit different, there could be different ages for perimenopause to menopause.
For myself, I'm still in perimenopause. They say that it is the last 'boost' that the female body has, it is actually giving out more female hormones, to try and give the body one last change to get pregnant, so I think that fertility is more likely.
Emotionally, though, we tend to be 'less feeling' and almost want to get away from everyone, family included. It is not that we don't love our family, but we emotionally sometimes feel flat.
(it was my mother-in-law who warned me of this, and I was so glad she did when I went through, and still go through that from time to time. Just because you don't (or she doesn't) seem to show emotional love, doesn't mean that she won't be as committed.) It is good to know that this is normal. Often 'get aways' with other women, especially church ones, are good for us in this.
