What exactly are you looking for?

http://www.ishtartemple.org/sacredIshtar.htm

then again you have stuff like The Sacred Whore: Sheela Goddess of the Celts (http://www.wiccanweb.ca/article-8489.html)

Are you looking for the history, the anthropology...?

Everything. History, anthropology, mythology, psychology. I've searched amazon.com and other online libraries and guess what? There's almost nothing on the topic! Amazing, isn't it?

Did you read the book you recommend in your post, irmao?

Well, there just doesn't seem to be too much evidence that it ever happened--at least, not as we have described in the OT.

Try this article (http://www.biblicalstudies.org.uk/article_ephesus_baugh.html) as a starting place: it's a bit short, but the references list is a good starting point to work with.

Various Google searches found some things, I don't know how serious or critical they are. I usd the following searches:

Temple Prostitution
Sumerian Temple Prostitution
Hindu Temple Prostitution

The book was recommended to me, sorry to say I have not read it. What you seem to be looking for is sex as an aspect of the sacred femine then? In that context female sexuality as coupled with worship of a Goddess in a number of cultures usually fertility based. Try here on the internet Sacred Text Archive, there is a section devoted to Sexuality in all faiths. An it may offer a further launch point for you.
