I'd be willing to be that my "shuffle list" will be rather different from just about anyone else's...
Organ Sonata #1, 3d movement - Alexandre Guilmant (Simon Preston)
Graduale: Suscepimus Deus Misericordiam Tuam from Missa Notre Dame - Guillame de Machaut (Ensemble Organum)
Kyrie II from Missa pro Defunctis a 5 - G. Palestrina (Chanticleer)
Prelude #18, Wohltempierte Klavier, book II - J. S. Bach (Vladimir Feltsman)
Sonata in D - A. Scarlatti (Rami Bar-Niv)
Mvmt. 1 from Piano Concerto #5 - Camille Saint-Saens (Phillipe Entremont)
"Tonflod" from Seven Allegorical pictures based upon the Norwegian folk tune "Kling no Klokka" - Sverre Eftestøl (Christopher Herrick)
Mvmt 4 from Kammermusik #3 - Paul Hindemith (Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam)
Antiphon: Ad sepulcrum beati Iacobi - Anonymous, from the Codex Calixtinus (Anonymous 4)
Dido and Aneas (Act I) - Henry Purcell (English Concert)
V'accendano le tede from Agrippina - G. F. Handel (English Concert)
Defecit In Dolore - William Byrd (Tallis Scholars)
Air from Abdelazaer - Henry Purcell (Academy of Ancient Music)
Mechanical Ballet from The Voyage - Philip Glass (Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra)
To Go Beyond - Enya
Dedicated to the One I Love - The Mamas and the Papas
Recitivo: Amanzio! from Giustino - G. F. Handel (Freiburg Barockorchester, Nicolas McGegan)
Erbarme dich, mein Gott from St. Matthew Passion - J. S. Bach (English Baroque Solists)
Sanctus from Mass #3 - Anton Bruckner (Bavarian Radio Chorus/Orchestra)
Os Justi - Anton Bruckner (Berlin Philharmonic Chorus)
The name following the dash is the composer, while the names in parentheses are the performers in these particular recordings.
I think there's no small amount of diversity represented here; in terms of time span represented, at any rate. The Codex Calixtinus (Ad sepulcrum beati Iacobi) dates from the 12th century and The Voyage (Mechanical Ballet) from 1992. That's a difference of about 800 or so years... :teeth:
