Heavens Garage Sale (http://www.christianity.com/partner/Article_Display_Page/0,,PTID19179%7CCHID119948%7CCIID1969854,00.html)
By Gary Piper
Introduction
Using your imagination travel with me into Heaven’s Celestial Family Room and eavesdrop on a conversation taking place between Father and Son. I’m sure they won’t mind after all they enjoy your company more than you’ll ever know.
Ready?
Close your eyes.
One… Two… Three… Open them!
Listen to the words as you read them.
"Have you seen our garage lately, Father?" Jesus asks.
"I was heading into the backyard the other day and did notice it was getting rather cluttered," came the reply.
After a moments pause, "the humans have what they call garage sales where they get rid of a lot of relics they no longer use. Do you suppose we could do something like that?" Jesus inquired.
"I think that’s a novel idea," God replied, "I’ve heard them say that one persons relics is another’s treasure."
"Lets do it then!" Jesus excitedly replied, "I’ll go out to the garage and get things started."
Okay, you can leave the world of your imagination and return to the real world. What if you’ve just read were to actually take place, if Jesus was to have a real garage what would be in it? What wouldn’t be in it? How you even get to the sale? Why would you even want to get to it anyway? What price would he put on each item?
And one final question what if the conversation is fictional and the sale is already going on?
