in the coaches quarters, i have opened up the debate challenge to any open theists. however, if yx changes his mind or RightIdea accepts the challenge, they get priority since the challenge was originally issued to them. details here:

If you want someone to debate, I'm open view, and would accept the challenge, pending the declaration to be proven.

I don't know much about the subject, but John Piper recently released a book in direct response to his denominations embrace of the movement. A refutation... Here's a link.
"This understanding of God?s foreknowledge has united the church for twenty centuries. But advocates of ?open theism? are presenting a different vision of God and a different view of the future.

"The rise of open theism within evangelicalism has raised a host of questions. Was classical theism decisively tainted by Greek philosophy? Is open theism a product of process theism? What philosophical presuppositions and cultural conditions are allowing open theism to flourish? How should we understand passages that tell us that God changes his mind or repents or expresses surprise? Are essentials of biblical Christianity? like the inerrancy of Scripture, the trustworthiness of God, and the gospel of Christ? at stake in this debate? Where, when, and why should we draw new boundaries?and is open theism beyond them? Beyond the Bounds brings together a respected team of scholars to examine the latest literature, address these questions, and give guidance to the church in this time of controversy."
He's the only writer I know of with more than a million sold with every cent or royalties given to missions.

Hopefully it's better than "God's Lesser Glory" because that was weak!

He hasn't written a book with that title, but the phone number is right on the website if you'd like to call to take up their "weak" position with them.

My bad, I was thinking of Bruce Ware. I get those two confused. Anyways, I did discuss at length the translation of Genesis 22:12 with Matt Perman, (part of John Piper's ministry) and he admitted that it should be translated "Now I know." Although, he said it should be read "Now I see," which is great, although no evidence supports it.

Yeah, Piper and Ware are both pretty weak. Some good critics of the open view are Thomas Weinandy who teaches at Oxford and his book Does God Suffer? Chris Hall is a good critic and I liked reading his stuff in Does God Have A Future?
Other really bad critics are McArthur Jr and those taht contribute to Bound Only Once. Also, Geisler is horrible. Most Evangelical critics write crappy stuff.
Also, no one seems to want to deal with Terrence Fretheim's excellently written book The Suffering of God. It would be impressive if someone would respond to that and try and refute the open view that way, but no one does. Oh well. Just means the assent of the open view to worldwide theological domination is closer then it would have been. Or if they had tried to respond to Fretheim's work and failed miserably would it be even closer as a result? Hmmmmmmmmmm...............................................:ponder:

........anyone from Criswell College in Dallas, TX that has written any work critiquing open theism is CRAP If there are any good critiques out of Criswell within the next year it will be a HUGE miracle.
And H Wayne House is as bad as Geisler if not worse.
I think that about does it for the list of bad critics of the open view of creation. May its assent to worldwide theological domination come quickly.
